For a Golden Ocala homeowner, that framing misses the interesting fact: the 2026 Summer Series runs June 3 through August 9, weekly competition runs Wednesday through Sunday, and there is no charge for admission or parking. Ten weeks of top-tier sport, thirteen dining venues on campus, and a spa are sitting inside a ten-minute golf cart ride, without the winter crush. Saturday Night Grand Prix, and why it's the best free ticket in Marion County

The centerpiece of the summer calendar is the Saturday evening jumper class in the Grand Arena. Saturday Night Grand Prix events run under the lights in the WEC Grand Arena, beginning at 7:30pm, with international riders competing on courses that would cost real money to watch almost anywhere else.

The scale is easy to under-appreciate from inside the neighborhood. The 2026 Summer Series offers more than $3 million in FEI prize money and 39 FEI ranking classes throughout the circuit. A few dates worth blocking on the calendar:

• Sunday, June 14 — $50,000 First Equestrian Grand Prix
• Week V, July 7–12 — the Young Jumper Championship Final presented by Karlswood, bringing together top developing horses from qualifying competitions at WEC – Ocala and WEC – Wilmington
• Sunday, July 26 — $50,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Grand Prix
• August 4–9 — Summer Series IX: CSI3*/National Hunter/Level 6 Jumper, the closing week

If you would rather sit down for the evening, the Grand Prix Dining Experience at The Equestrian Hotel features terrace seating overlooking the Grand Arena during competition under the lights, with a three-course chef's dinner featuring complimentary beer and wine, a cash bar available for spirits and bottles from the in-house sommelier's selections, and doors opening at 6:30pm. Reserve early in the week. Locals are the ones filling those tables in July.

The Equestrian Manor, four restaurants deep

The single biggest change to your options as a Golden Ocala resident happened this year, and quietly. WEC completed The Equestrian Manor's four-restaurant collection with the opening of The White Willow and Genievieve's at 5pm, joining The Polo Pony and Emma's Patisserie already open on the ground floor, adding elevated rooftop dining to WEC's newest luxury event and hospitality venue, located adjacent to The Riding Academy Hotel. City leaders, local businesses and community members attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 1, and the full four-restaurant collection has been running in summer service ever since.

Here is what each one actually is, without the press-release polish:

• The Polo Pony — American fare for lunch and dinner in a contemporary setting with multiple private dining rooms, a 32-tap beer program, and a cowhide-clad dining room. Ground floor. Hours are 11am–11pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am–12am Friday and Saturday. This is the room to book when you have out-of-town guests who want a scene without a drive downtown.
• Genievieve's — Rooftop Italian. Elevated Italian with indoor and outdoor seating and an indoor bar, on the fourth floor.
• The White Willow — Rooftop pan-Asian. Dynamic rooftop bar serving pan-Asian dinner fare borrowing from Japanese and Chinese cuisine with Korean and Thai influences, sushi bar and Yakitori, elevated Asian street food, tea and sake cocktails, and a curated selection of Asian beer, with organic textures and tranquil designs. The White Willow features DJ programming on Friday and Saturday nights, while Polo Pony offers live entertainment on those same evenings.
• Emma's Patisserie — The second, expanded location of the property's popular European-inspired pastry shop. Open 7am–9pm daily. Practical takeaway: a full-service patisserie is now open at 7am inside walking-and-cart distance of your kitchen.

The people behind the pastry program are worth naming. WEC's pastry chef Yohann Le Bescond was a semifinalist in the 2025 James Beard Awards, and alongside Executive Pastry Chef Kari Howard he will bring artisanal confections to the table. That is not a credential Ocala had a year ago.

As Jeremy Gow, Senior Director of Food and Beverage Operations at WEC, put it when the rooftop concepts opened, they bring "a unique energy to the venue, offering guests elevated dinner experiences that reflect our commitment to thoughtful cuisine and the level of hospitality that defines World Equestrian Center."

The weekday rhythm nobody talks about

The Grand Prix gets the press. The weekday rhythm is what makes WEC actually useful as a neighborhood amenity, and this is where residents have a real edge over guests staying two nights at the hotel.

A workable Tuesday-through-Friday shape for a summer week:

1. Morning coffee and a croissant at Emma's Patisserie, before the show grounds fill in. Doors open at 7am.
2. A midday lap around the Shoppes, or a stop at the full-service Calluna Spa and Salon, boutique shopping, and 13 dining options across the campus.
3. A pool afternoon. Hotel guests can relax between classes at the resort-style pools at both hotels, including splash pads for kids to enjoy, and for locals seeking a daycation by the pool, limited day passes are available for purchase. Ask at either hotel front desk. Availability is capped.
4. Watch a class from the rail. Classes begin around 8am daily and run into the afternoon, in air-conditioned indoor arenas, with international and top-level jumper classes featured in the WEC Grand Arena. A weekday hunter round in an indoor ring at 72 degrees is a genuinely pleasant way to spend an hour in July.
5. Dinner without a reservation, most nights. Summer Wednesdays and Thursdays are the sweet spot for walk-ins at the Manor.

The weekend cadence shifts: Saturday evenings at the World Equestrian Center frequently feature Grand Prix show jumping events, which are traditionally free and open to the public, though some premium experiences or special seating areas may require paid admission.

Parking, quietly, is the real amenity

If you have driven to a Winter Spectacular event, you know the parking problem WEC used to have. That is solved for the summer. Guests visiting and dining at The Equestrian Manor may enjoy convenient, complimentary daily self-parking in the new on-site parking deck, with valet parking also available through The Equestrian Manor, and overnight parking not permitted. The deck sits at the front of the property, closest to the Golden Ocala side. For residents, that means the Manor is functionally a five-minute door-to-table trip on a Friday night.

• The Shoppes on 80th. WEC's expansion continues with construction now underway on the Shoppes on 80th, a large-scale retail development expected to bring additional shopping and lifestyle offerings to the Ocala area. Watch for the frontage build-out on the drive in.
• Fall show season. The fall show calendar at World Equestrian Center – Ocala is expanding in 2026 with additions alongside the highly anticipated Championship Show, set for September 15–20, 2026.
