A private course that spent a week on a national stage
For most of its history, Country Club of Ocala's defining feature has been exclusivity. Guest reviewers on TripAdvisor routinely note that it's members and guests only, with no visitor bookings, a point of pride for a course that's twice been voted Best Golf Course by Ocala Magazine. So it's worth pausing on what happened here in March 2026.
The club hosted a round of the 2026 PGA TOUR Americas Qualifying School from March 17 to 20, one of the first two sites in the country to run the event alongside Dothan, Alabama, with Palm Springs, Sugar Land and San Jacinto following. The neighborhood didn't flinch
Renovation season can make a community nervous, especially when it involves bunker crews and construction access changes near the course. The market gave an early answer. In April 2026, a home at 7795 SE 12th Circle, overlooking the 15th hole, sold for $2.1 million, less than six months after the Heritage acquisition closed. The four-bedroom home, built in 1996 on just over an acre, changed hands from the Paglia family to Theresa Pugh and Dr. Alexander Rodi Jr. It's a single sale, not a trend line, but it's a useful data point for anyone who assumed a change in ownership would spook buyers during the transition.
